Geraldine was a godsend in the whole process of writing, rewriting, and publishing my national and international bestseller. Geraldine safeguarded my tone and message while clarifying the impact I was trying to have. It was a deeply positive and nourishing experience as well as enjoyable.
Ontop of all this she had an inside perspective on the publishing and writing process that helped me navigate it with more clarity. I self published but had a quality finish of a traditional publisher because of Geraldine's expertise.

"I’m eternally grateful to you for your fantastic 6-week course (Kickstarting Your Non-Fiction Book, Irish Writers Centre, Mar/Apr 2024). Not only did I enjoy it immensely, benefit from the action plans
and stretch myself beyond expectations
but also, you have guided me to put order and structure on all the haphazard ideas I had previously, and my passion for my topic has multiplied a hundredfold. I realise how vital it is at this time to share my discoveries, learnings and guidance.
Now I just have to stay out of my own way and let divine guidance direct me."

"I wrote and published my first book last year titled Midlife Women Rock: A Menopause Story for a New Generation. I was so fortunate to have been signposted to Geraldine. On our first zoom call I knew she was the person whom I could work with to bring the book to publication. Her professionalism, expertise and exacting high standards enabled me see a very basic manuscript transform into a best -selling book. I highly recommend Geraldine to those of you looking for a book editor. She is a tough task master where writing is concerned and I am so grateful Geraldine! Above all else Geraldine is a lovely individual to work with, hugely encouraging, wanting to get one’s best onto the page."

"I attended ‘The Art of the Pitch’ online facilitated by Geraldine Walsh via The Irish Writer’s Centre during January-February 2024. Geraldine was a truly remarkable and inspiring tutor and provided a comprehensive, thought provoking and absolutely invaluable overview of freelance journalism during the six weeks of the course. The personal insights she shared into her life as a freelance journalist, how she structures her time and crafts her pitches were so very helpful. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who wishes to really learn the ‘nuts and bolts’ of freelance journalism.’"

"As a first-time author, I was in need of coaching, developmental editing, copy editing and proofreading for my book Perfectly Imperfect Parenting: Connection Not Perfection. Geraldine Walsh performed all these tasks with exceptional expertise and skill. She paid great attention to detail and gave me extensive feedback, helping me not only to tighten my writing, but also improve the structure of the book. She was an absolute pleasure to work with, and the revisions and additions she suggested were always right on target. I really could not have asked for a better editor. I have learned so much from her, and look forward to working with her again in the future."

“I worked with Geraldine on my first chapter book, ‘Hare Today, Gone Tomorrow’ for children aged 8 – 11 years and, hands down, it was one of the most educational writing experiences I have ever had. Geraldine has a way with delivering feedback and suggestions that is second to none and an unrivalled eye for detail. I’m so proud of the final result and cannot recommend working with her to enough people. Ger, you’ve a gift. Thank you.”

"I completed Geraldine Walsh's course last week - Kickstarting Your Non-Fiction Book - and wanted to let you know that I thought it was incredible. Geraldine came to class each week with carefully prepared and detailed information, which she shared in an engaging way. I really appreciated her no-nonsense, practical approach to the challenges of writing and publishing a book. In the last three classes we had an opportunity to dive into questions and discussion about specific issues we were dealing with. She really helped me think through each stage of my book, including the proposal.
I highly highly recommend this course. "

Working with Geraldine was exactly what I needed to get my proposal finished. I reached a point in which my book proposal was 90% there but the structure but I knew I needed help. Geraldine challenged me on different aspects of it and highlighted for me what she believed was working and what wasn’t. The report she sent me far exceeded my expectations and the subsequent 1-1 allowed me to discuss her suggestions in person and make decisions about how to move forward. Working on her recommendations, I could move quickly to make the changes needed and a month later, I was in a position to send my proposal to publishers.
I first met Geraldine Walsh when I participated in her course titled Kickstart your Nonfiction book: creating an author roadmap, through the Irish Writer's Center. From the first moment she began speaking I knew that her attention to detail, and depth of knowledge about the publishing world were going to be incredibly valuable to me and my writing journey. She asked thought-provoking questions, helping me to focus on the story I really wanted to tell, rather than the one I thought others might want to hear. After the course, I worked with Geraldine again when she provided editorial feedback on a couple of my book chapters and helped me to think through the overall structure of my book and the elements that I need to draw out and explain in more detail alongside my narrative. She provided clarity on what was working and what wasn't as well as ideas on how to improve my book. All of which were supported by a written report that I refer back to again and again as I continue working on my manuscript. I can highly recommend Geraldine as an editor and writing coach!
